MICROSOFT DEVICES on Wednesday unveiled the Nokia Lumia 530 smartphone @ INR 7350/- , a Windows Phone 8.1 device that it promotes as the most affordable Lumia handset to date.
The Nokia Lumia 530 follows in the footsteps of the Nokia Lumia 520 smartphone, which the Finnish phone company claimed last year was its most popular Windows Phone handset.
There’s a 4in 854×480 LCD touchscreen onboard smartphone, which while no improvement on the Lumia 520′s identical screen, comes powered by a faster quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8.1 mobile operating system. The Nokia Lumia 530′s 5MP camera doesn’t quite match the Lumia 930′s 20MP sensor, but it might outperform its high-end end rival in terms of battery life, with its 1,430mAh battery offering 10 hours of talk time and 22 days on standby.
The Nokia Lumia 530 boasts just 4GB of internal storage, but this can be expanded by an additional 128GB via microSD card.

Losing your phone is never fun and in the event your precious Android device lands itself in someone else’s hands, 1 of 2 things can happen. That person will either have a new phone to add to their collection, or they’ll be kind enough to return it. But even attempting to return a device to its original owner could prove difficult if the phone is locked up with some sort of password.
Today, Google is taking a lot of the stress out of this entire situation by adding a few handy new feature to Android Device Manager. The web interface (and app) now has a few new options in the “lock” section. Like before, the device can be force locked with a password (something you’ll want to do to keep your all your private data/media safe) but now you’ll now see the option to add a recovery message to the lockscreen, along with a phone number the person can call to return the device. For the message, it can be anything you like. You can add death threats, or take the more cordial route (we recommen…
The third flash sale of the Xiaomi Mi 3 smartphone was over in just two seconds on Tuesday, the Chinese handset maker posted on its Facebook page. Xiaomi had earlier revealed its plan to sell 15,000 units of the Mi 3 on e-commerce website Flipkart at 2 p.m on Tuesday.
Within two seconds, the phone was sold out. While many registered users were able to add the phone to the cart, there were others who complained about an error appearing on Flipkart or the webpage failing to load.
Earlier, the Mi 3 was sold out in 40 minutes in the first sale and five seconds during the second sale.
The next sale of the Mi 3 will be on August 12 and registrations for the same will begin at 6 pm on Tuesday, the company said.

A four year-old vulnerability in an open source component that is a critical part of Google’s Android mobile operating system could leave mobile devices that use it susceptible to attack, according to researchers at the firm Bluebox Security.
The vulnerability was disclosed on Tuesday. It affects devices running Android versions 2.1 to 4.4 (“KitKat”), according to a statement released by Bluebox. According to Bluebox, the vulnerability was introduced to Android by way of the open source Apache Harmony module. It affects Android’s verification of digital signatures that are used to vouch for the identity of mobile applications, according to Jeff Forristal, Bluebox’s CTO. He will be presenting details about the FakeID vulnerability at the Black Hat Briefings security conference in Las Vegas next week.
